Según el relato, Xao fue capturada por los ancianos del pueblo y atada con cadenas mágicas para evitar que volviera a causar daño. A la fecha, se dice que en noches de luna llena pueden escucharse sus lamentos entre el sonido del viento y el oleaje.

It is said that on full moon nights, her cries can still be heard blending with the wind and the waves.
